Position: Manager/Sr. Manager – Design (PEB)

Job Family: Engineering Services-Design

Summary: This position will be responsible for the design and execution of Pre-Engineered Buildings in civil design projects of the company

Location: Mumbai

Reports to: GM Design/ VP-Design

Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing Quote Estimates for clients
2. Checking of Design jobs & Quote Estimates of other estimator.
3. Preparing Reaction Sheets & details of foundation at time of Estimate.
4. Analysis, Designing of Steel Structures for Design Job.
5. Preparing Connection its details for Design Job.
6. Preparing complete Design Package for Design Job.
7. Preparing Design Estimate of Design Jobs.
8. Software using: – Staad.PRO v8i, ASFAD, EZ-build etc
9. Structural Design of Steel Building (P.E.B.) as per the Client Requirement.
10. Pre-Design at Proposal Stage as economical to enable marketing person to get jobs.
11. Prepare an Estimate at Proposal Stage.
12. Detailed Design of every component in final Design Report.
13. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, structural stability, soundness, and design safety, conformance with relevant codes at optimum cost.
14. Design buildings and structures assigned to him using design codes and specifications and procedures adopted by Interarch.
15. Maintain proper coordination with the clients and to participate in design meetings and attend client meetings as required time to time

Desired qualification: BE/B. Tech – Civil, M.E/M.Tech – Structures

Experience required: 12-16 Years as civil structural design engineer

Key Interactions: Execution team in civil business, Designers

Travel: Occasional

Technical Competencies:

Proficiency in software: Should have knowledge on STAAD.Pro; Indian Standards (IS), American Standards (AISC) &

Metal Building Manufacturer Association (MBMA) using software like Staad.PRO v8i.

Analytical Ability: Analyses issues and breaks them down into their component parts. Makes systematic and

rational judgments based on relevant information.

Organized:Organizes and schedules events, activities, and resources. Sets up and monitors timescales

and plans.

Delivery Focus: Plans timely to deliver as per schedule. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of

outputs. Anticipates any possible roadblocks that might come in the way of delivery and

fixes them in order to meet timelines.

Cost & Profitability Focus: Plans timely to achieve targets within budgeted cost. Comes up

with innovative ways to increase profitability by way of seeking additional workforce/

revenue on the same project to increase margins. Focuses only on must do expenditures.

Cross Functional Teamwork: Takes efforts to understand the impact of his actions on other

departments. Treats and expects other departments as internal customers. Regularly

interacts with other departments.

Ownership and Accountability: Does not pass the buck. Takes ownership of his / her

responsibility area. Owns up an assignment and makes all the efforts to overcome the

obstacles. Ensures delivery of his target instead of waiting for others to finish their part.
